"Mip" from Smiling Friends Season 1 episode 6
In 2021 I worked as part of a small team of animators on the production of the character "Mip" for an episode of the now-hit Adult Swim Series "Smiling Friends"
Approached by Harry Partridge, I was asked to determine the feasibility of completing the project. I conducted thorough analysis on the preproduction materials and determined that the project could be completed on time and to budget with the help of a small animation team.
Harry then hired me to help build and operate this team. Thanks to our combined efforts we were able to produce over 2 minutes of bespoke animation on an extremely tight deadline. I acted initially as production coordinator, organizing and delegating shots to the team, but I also took on additional duties such as directing shots to help make up time as we approached the deadline.
Our efforts were praised by the shows creators, who said our character was amongst their favourite parts of the series and that "In every other parallel universe, that episode with that character does not turn out the way that it does"
